Angry mob sets two suspected bandits ablaze in Niger state

Two suspected kidnappers were burnt alive by an angry mob in Madalla area of Suleja Local Government Area of Niger State.   It was gathered that the incident happened about 10 am on Monday, May 24, few hours after about 15 persons were kidnapped at Gauraka in Tafa Local Government Area of the state.   According to eyewitnesses, the suspected bandits were about to escape when the people in the area rounded them up and set them on fire with petrol and used tyres.   It could not be confirmed if there was any link…

Seven women found dead in a beauty salon in Niger state

Seven women were found dead in a beauty salon in the Rijau Local Government Area of Niger State on Thursday, July 30.   The spokesperson of the state police command, Wasiu Abiodun, who confirmed this to newsmen, said the victims, two married women and five single ladies, had gone to the salon to make their hair in preparation for Sallah when they met their untimely death.   Eyewitnesses say the women died from inhaling fumes from the generator used in the salon. COVID-19 patients in Niger state on Wednesday May 6th staged a protest in their Isolation center over what they termed poor welfare and treatment meted at them.   They requested to be allowed to go baack to their homes instead of being left to ”die of hunger” at the isolation facility. Woman arrested for selling a kidnapped boy for N300,000 in Niger state

The Niger State Police Command has paraded one Bose Isaac for selling an abducted baby boy for N300,000.   The suspected child trafficker was planning her escape at the time of her arrest following a missing person complaint made by the father of the victim, Gambo Shua’ibu of Cikin-Gari village on August 24.   Niger state Police Public Relations Officer, Muhammad Abubakar said the suspect was arrested by a team of policemen attached to the Kagara Division.
