Army arrests 13 impersonators in Lagos

13 fake soldiers accused of using military uniform to perpetrate crimes in Lagos in spite of the lockdown order issued by President Buhari over the outbreak of Coronavirus, have been arrested by the Nigerian army.   The suspects were identified a Ebenezer Adeleke, Afolabi Hassan, Allen Afolabi, Daramola Olamide, Akpan Joel, Eze David, Frank Eze, Joseph Okere, Ahmed Ameh and Akpan Emmanuel. COVID-19: 65 arrested for holding a party in Lagos despite lockdown

Men of the Lagos state police command on Wednesday pril 29, arrested 65 men and women for holding a party at 84 Park Hotel, Augusto Close, Oko Oba in the state.   A statement released by the spokesperson of the state police command, Bala Elkana, says the suspects were arrested while consuming some substances suspected to be hard/illicit drugs as they partied within the hotel premises.   ”Some of the suspects were found in the swimming pool catching fun, in total neglect of the social distancing regulations and the lockdown order.…

President Buhari extends lockdown in Abuja, FCT and Ogun by one week. To end May 4th

President Buhari has extended the lockdown in Lagos, Abuja and Ogun state by one week.   In his broadcast this evening, the President said the lockdown will be phased off gradually beginning from May 4th.   He recognised the economic impact of the lockdown and said no economy can afford a continued lockdown as they await a cure or vaccine for the viral disease. 86 new cases of Coronavirus recorded in Nigeria – 70 in Lagos alone

86 new cases of Coronavirus have been recorded in Nigeria.   According to the Nigeria Center for Disease Control NCDC, 70 of the new cases were recorded in Lagos, 7 in the FCT, 3 in Akwa Ibom, 3 in Katsina state, 1 in Jigawa, 1 in Bauchi and 1 in Borno state.   Nigeria now has 627 confirmed cases of Coronavirus with Lagos being the epicenter with 376 confirmed cases.   See the breakdown as posted by the NCDC below.

Lagos discharges four Coronavirus patients

The Lagos State Ministry of Health has announced that four more Coronavirus patients have been discharged after testing negative for the virus.   According to LSMOH, the 4 patients who were recently discharged are all males.
