Oil workers make up about 60% of Coronavirus cases in Rivers – Governor Wike

62 year old woman dies while struggling for COVID-19 palliative in Rivers

A 62-year-old woman has died while struggling for COVOD-19 palliative shared by the  Rivers state government in Elele Kingdom, Ikwerre Local Government Area of the State.   According to Vanguard, the deceased, Mrs. Florence Onuobodo arrived at the venue with others waiting to receive the palliatives. A stampede ensued and she was trampled upon by others who were also struggling to collect the food items. Pregnant woman loses her baby allegedly after Rivers State Police detained her and her husband on their way to the hospital

A Nigerian woman and her two children, both under 10, were burnt to death in a fire outbreak that occured inside her one room apartment in Alikor estate in Choba, Rivers state today April 28th.   According to reports. the fire is suspected to have been caused by the kerosene the woman sells. Her body and those of her children have been evacuated and deposited at the morgue.
