Nigerian lady dies two months after posting “if I die during Lockdown no need for autopsy”

A 22-year-old woman has died two months after making a post about death on Facebook.   Sandra Chinenye Obioha Ihekwereme wrote on Facebook on April 4: “If I die in this lockdown no need for autopsy. Na yam and red oil and garri with salt kill me.”     Sadly, Sandra passed on on June 12. Her obituary says she died “after a brief illness.”   She will be laid to rest on Friday, July 3.     Friends are mourning her on Facebook while resharing her April post.

Lightning kills man during a downpour in Edo

A man has died after he was struck by lightning during a downpour in Edo state.   The man, identified simply as Mr. Edafe, died on Thursday, June 4, in Benin, Edo State.   The deceased was reportedly working at a building site around the Cattle Market in Asoro Hill, on Ekehuan Road, when the rain started. He took refuge in a nearby uncompleted building.   While there, waiting for the rain to subside, he was struck by lightning and he died instantly.

A West Virginia man has been charged with murder after he was accused of gouging out his neighbor’s eyes with his thumbs during disagreement over a loud rooster.   Richard Ellison, 47, was arrested on Sunday, May 17, by the Mercer County Sheriff´s Department in relation to the killing of 72-year-old Benny Foutch.   During questioning, Ellison told a detective that he killed his neighbor’s rooster because it was crowing loudly and then gouged out Foutch’s eyes because “Lucifer made him do it,” according to a criminal complaint.   The…

Fake mourners arrested while traveling with empty coffin during Coronavirus travel ban

A group of eight Kenyans who disguised themselves as mourners taking a body for burial during the Coronavirus travel ban in Nairobi have all been arrested.   Over the weekend, the country’s health minister Mutahi Kagwe in a statement said that the group had left the capital, Nairobi, and travelled 370km (about 230 miles) west with an empty coffin in the vehicle before being intercepted.
